Doing some work this week which has me in the Ubuntu environment, and so I'm giving another shot to gPodder. It's very slim and fast, basically all gPodder does is manage the files, and then sends them over to Rhythmbox (or whatever your default MP3 player is) for actually playing the files. You lose out on episode artwork, but other than that it does the job pretty well. Also it looks like you can create a gPodder account to sync your podcasts from client to client.

I've started using Podcast Addict, which isn't super great but it's got a free app (with ads) and it saves progress on everything so it's good for slowly working my way through backlogs or picking up where I stopped without losing my place.  I still just keep 'em in a folder when I listen to them again on my computer though.

The real answer is I drop them into a folder on a cheap Android tablet and use Folder Player on shuffle when I'm working at home.

I just stream off the site.  I've no idea what that'd correspond to on the poll.  I'm not very computer literate.

Pocket Casts has taken over my god damn podcasting experience, and it is well worth the $4 I paid for the app.

I use foobar2000 with the Podcatcher component, essentially just an interface for displaying episodes where you can download them into a file (or stream directly if that's what you're into)

Foobar2000 is fantastic.

I upload a copy to my Google Play Music library. I do that with a lot of stuff and still had like 5k free upload slots left when they bumped the limit up from 20k to I think 50k not that long ago.

I then stream them from my phone using the standard Play Music app. Occasionally I do the Chromecast thing.

I'm also using Podcast Addict. It's not perfect, but it's worked for me leaps and bounds better than some of the other podcast apps (I'm looking at you Stitcher)
