So there's another new Twitter layout that's being rolled out gradually, and I'd like to use it because it has less white space and more summary info. However, what it also has is a giant banner graphic, and I have nothing to put in that spot.
For reference, here is Chris Coyiers' (https://twitter.com/chriscoyier) profile using the new layout, and here is what Nike did (https://twitter.com/nike).
More importantly, I found this blog post (http://www.twelveskip.com/tutorials/twitter/1267/twitter-header-size-dimension-2014) which has the dimensions. The actual image is kind of complex (reads differently for different resolutions), so I'd encourage you to try the PSD.
One caveat:
Do literally whatever you like with the image, but the one thing I don't want is what QI did (https://twitter.com/qikipedia), which is to have one logo in the center, and then the same logo duplicated in the actual avatar. If you want to use "The F Plus" or "Terrible Things Read With Enthusiasm", or any other text you like, feel free. But I'd probably refrain from using the red circle. (and the red circle won't change - simple logo on white background) If you feel like bleeding the white box that holds the F+ log into the actual banner, that could be fun. But again, just use your judgement and make something pretty.
