I honestly don't understand what the difference is, other than "comes with your cell phone". However, if you want to start your own thread for your own purposes, I will not and also cannot stop you, but it won't be here, in this thread, for these purposes, so I'd say just post em here.

emoji are agreed on at the Unicode convention! Emoticons are composed of multiple Unicode characters
