full disclosure: i really only provided the first bit and the last bit. everything in between was amazing.
as far as i gather, kratom is as was described in the episode and is semi-legal (?). i think you either eat it or brew it like coffee or dip it like tobacco. regardless of the method its meant to taste like absolute garbage and everyone hates doing it, while continuing to do it.
drugs hyphen forum dot com is kind of unlike any forum i've been to and as noted in the episode it has a bazillion subforums. but it also has a pretty decent drug wiki with pages for each substance covering its origins and history, various uses (recreational, medicinal etc.), health risks, vague hints on how to grow, find, extract or synthesize, forms or presentations and legality. also each page lists the latest threads to mention the drug forum-wide.
what also surprised me is that there was an application process to get an account in which you had to say what areas interested you and what you think you could bring to the forum.
