i don't know that this is going to be a productive discussion but regardless of your personal feelings re: racist or rape-related jokes, people who don't like them probably aren't going to like them because you explain why they're funny. You don't think comedy needs to be "smoothed down" but other people are okay with a smaller subset of still quite funny jokes. You don't actually need the wisecrack about how the Eskimo can't rape the she-Eskimo because her leggings are frozen.
