Sadly, at least in the UK it's still the employers responsibility to make sure your equipment and working practices are fine. The landlord is still responsible for stuff like the electrical installation and fire alarms, but you cant fuck them over by not maintaining three points of contact on a ladder or plugging 16 appliances into a single outlet by chaining extensions.
