Good idea; adding a little pinch of salt to the glass of soda you're about to drink after some exercise, to help replace some of what you lost through sweating.
Bad idea; forgetting the nucleation effect that fuels the Diet-Coke-and-Mentos fountain. :B
Luckily it was ginger ale, so it didn't contain caffeine or aspartame to REALLY shoot off a CO2 fountain. And I like my soda pretty flat anyway, so no harm done. XD
