I don't know if I should be relieved or disappointed that neither of the songs used were from that official Star Wars Kinect dance DLC where they did star wars parodies of famous songs:

This is easily up there as a new favourite of mine. The material is incredible and the jokes were 100% on point all the way through.

I love star wars a lot, both genuinely and because he entire idea of the whole thing is completely bonkers.

As we've seen from this episode, and also most of the newer films, and also the last 40 years of Trekkies, almost everything about star wars is insane, unnecessary, overwrought, grade a bullshit. S tier nonsense. The original trilogy are genuinely good fantasy films with the rare bonus strength of having a space setting but saying fuck you to the trappings of actual science fiction, and they somehow manage that despite literally everything else about Star Wars being fucking nuts. It went off the rails basically immediately! Fucking jizz and the holiday special happened and basically none of that is evident in the films which were just like this is a blue musician and this is a tall hairy man, have fun!

Star Wars is one of those thing you couldn't create if you tried. It happened by accident (because it made enough money that no-one could be fired).

I'm still laughing at jokes from the episode that keep coming back to me as I type this.

Edit: oh and the thing I love about wookieepedia specifically is how you can immediately see shit go wild on literally every article. Like, the canon pages all read like perfectly normal fandom articles, like "The Max Rebo Band was a 12 member band..." and then you click legends and it says "the Max Rebo Band, also known as The Max Rebo Twelve and (originally) Evar Orbus and His Galactic Jizz-Wailers..." next to a psychedelic  poster full of naked aliens. Also shoutout to the capital His like Max Rebo is God.

I actually really liked Jack of all Trades. Not as good as Brisco County Jr, but Bruce Campbell is usually pretty entertaining. You guys should totally do an episode that's just an hour of your references to things only some people remember like Cleopatra 2525

I'd only heard of Jack of all trades, but it seems like Sam Raimi used it as an excuse to dress Bruce Campbell up like a leather daddy.

So this show's alright with me!

Instead of "Lapti Nek," I almost used a clip from this ancient SNL sketch starring Bill Murray which has been stuck in my head for decades.

I'm reminded of...

I've seen multiple Star Wars movies many times in theaters, and many times more on DVD.
I have a Millennium Falcon toy on my computer desk, and have spent tens and dozens of hours over the years watching Star Wars theory and lore videos on YouTube.

All that being said, I've never heard of 99% of the shit mentioned in this reading. What the freaking heck, how is this real?

I think Star Wars to me is kind of like the Space Shuttle.

The Space shuttle, we think of it as this cool sleek airplane-like thing flying through space right?

But really, it's just a big ass extremely delicate airplane that can't actually fly, and has a bunch of clunky bullshit strapped all over it just to get off the ground.

But once you strip away all the stupid shit that ruins its profile, and intentionally forget about the fact that its kind of dangerous and unreliable, you can still admire it and feel proud of what it did accomplish in spite of that.

If it makes you feel any better, it's ironic. It is Red Letter Media though, so your mileage may vary on whether or not it's good.

I feel like everyone "Yes, but" replying to Lemon is missing the essential point which should've already been learned from previous episodes of the podcast, namely that Red Letter Media is
INDECENT!!!
Now I wonder if there's some Plinkett character insert in one of these cyclopean pages, sort of a "Secret of Nihm" rat porn lady killing her haters in her RPGs type-a deal. I looked it up, and all I got was a page for Kilian Plunkett, an artist. I wouldn't mention it otherwise, but in his wiki picture he looks like Mike Stoklasa, too, which I find a pretty funny coincidence on top of a coincidence.

For a while I avoided watching the Nerd Crew episodes because the irony on the thumbnails was so dense I thought it was sincere.
