Title: Remembrances of F Plus Live Weekend

FRIDAY Early arrivals Frank West and Boots Raingear take some time to study the instructions for the Insane Clown Posse "deckbuilding" game called Into The Echoside . The instructions are poorly written and complicated. Boots gives up. Frank West watches part of a "How To Play" video (1:18:00 in length), re-reads the instructions several times, and swears a lot.
bumpgrrl makes several punishment drinks using different flavors of Faygo and liquors. One is shock blue and another one is this sort of tar-color. She told me what they all had at one point but I've since forgotten. Maybe she'll post what she remembers. Suffice it to say, they were all revolting.
We begin the recording, and Frank West explains the premise: The game will be played by Jack Chick, Boots Raingear, STOG and myself. Frank West will serve as CM (or Karnivul Mazta) and will helpfully guide us through the gameplay. He reads the plot to the game, then very briefly explains how gameplay works. If we fuck up the rules, we drink. If we ask a question about the rules, we drink. If Frank West feels like it, we drink. Gameplay doesn't make any sense and Frank West is particularly sadistic, we gulp on many punishment drinks. Somehow we convince Frank that he needs a punishment drink as well, and so is given this thing that's black if you look at it from above but a prism if you looked at if from the side. It was like six kinds of Faygo and tonic. Several of us have headaches and learn that Faygo is made with both HCFC and sucrose. You know, for flavor.
We end the game far earlier than prescribed (an actual game would have taken like, probably six or seven hours?) and count our points. Jack Chick is in third place and has to down a special punishment drink for that. However, I'm in last place and so I got bumpgrrl's special "White Russian" which was like.... whipping cream, chocolate syrup, vodka and Faygo Diet Cream soda. I audibly gagged.
That all taken care of, we saved the recording so all this suffering wouldn't be for nothing and continued to party without constraints. Learning that I really like the game Tapper, Frank West beats my Tapper score because he is a monster.
SATURDAY A late start. Aspirin. Kumquatxop is really into the idea of us doing Whirlyball and I too am into the idea of that. You know, as an idea. We have a cookout and head over to Grumpy's for setup.
Some technical issues arrive. I end up spending ~$100 on cables and converters for a video display that never actually works. Audacity does something weird yet again and we have a false start. Then, STOG is onstage reading a story about Ray Steampunk poking God in the ass and everything is right with the world. The readers are great. The crowd is great. I have so much fucking fun.
SUNDAY I wake up to faces informing me that I'm going out to breakfast with them. More Aspirin. I have a mediocre omelette and we head back to my place to watch many, many, many Bill Connolly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQILIdXI16g) teaching us how to draw various things. Eventually, we head out to Roseville and set up for the karaoke party. Things begin a little low-key, but once we're halfway through Mique's rendition of Just A Gigolo it all comes together. I do not like the taste of Thrills Gum. Fred Schneider covering Fergie was wonderful. Wrestle with Jimmy. I'm only happy when it's STOG. So many wonderful performances, one after another, followed by the best No Diggity I've ever participated in.
MONDAY This couch is comfortable. Where's my fucking wallet?

Barest of the bare minimum, it'll take a week. It depends on whether or not I'm working overtime, and if I decide to do anything else at all with my free time.
Do look forward to it though. It should look and sound nicer than last years.

WEDNESDAY MORNING Oh, there's my wallet. Just sitting on that chair in the living room, so it must have been there the whole time. That's weird. But I mean, yay.

It's Friday and I've drank so many Faygo cocktails I'm gonna become a were-Juggalo. Clown makeup will seep through my pores. My hair will grow out and form into Juggalo-shaped jerseys and beanies. And I will blast shitty clown rap before I am mercifully arrested in an alleyway in Downtown Minneapolis.
One weekend a month, I am now down with the clown, spraying Faygo into the faces of passersby. And hoboes.
I have learned from the Carnival Master, and now I am mediocre yet competent at clown-based card games. Thanks, Frank West!
