I missed STOG. ♥️

Y'all got me doing this instead of starting dinner. I was v. disappointed in the actual amazon product.

This was a real fun doc to make since there is just so many stupid items for sale on Amazon. I gotta mention that the Energy Magic Compleat is free with kindle unlimited.
I died laughing at the shapeshiter bit. I totally missed that spelling error and it's damn hilarious. For some reason google docs decided not to put the red underline on that word. I'm sure there will be more spelling errors in my other docs, since I'm dyslexic.

Whoops, just realized I had the wrong submitter in the show notes. Fixed.

Regardless of how you rate his comedy, his prose is simply inspirational.

That is some amazing username/post content confluence right there.
Also: That one book among among the list of titles at the end that was "A Lesbian Retelling of Dracula" got me thinking that I want to see the "A lesbian retelling of <x>" done for a story where the author would have to do more than swap one of the main characters' sex to make it a "lesbian retelling".
Like, you show me "A Lesbian Retelling of Romeo and Juliet" or "A Lesbian Retelling of A Farewell to Arms" and I immediately know what that story's gonna look like, but give me "A Lesbian Retelling of The Old Man and the Sea" or "A Lesbian Retelling of The Life of Pi" and I am intrigued!

I was just happy to beat Boots at The Price is Right.

Shaggy-Stog story.

Making my mid-episode bet here seems like a good way to break in my account. I suspect the author's identity may be somehow amusing.
EDIT: oh
-
^^^ Excellent choice of username/avatar/text.
I may have become slightly obsessed with this concept.

As a writer, this episode was a massive self-confidence boost. I mean holy fuck, there was some seriously putrid writing being quoted in this episode. And it wasn't even proofread. ._.

The one about the hamster shapeshifter had an editor, even.

Ackshully lemon, episode 126 was all about pyramid power.
I have been personally affronted by this forgetfulnes and hitherto demand you step down from your lofty podcast throne.
-
Damn this episode is good, I could listen to STOG explain the reasons behind his decisions for hours.

there are two types of writers
1: 'wow, this makes me feel so much better about my own skills. i can't believe someone put this on Amazon!'
2: 'wow, this makes me feel so much better about my own skills. i should be the one putting this on Amazon!'

I'm very much in the first "mortified at the horrible quality of Amazon KindleDirect Publishing, dear God why" category. I still have to finish AND EDIT my novel before I'd even consider submitting it to publishing companies. Self-publishing is exceedingly hit or miss.
Edit your work and thin your paints.

STOG's origin story is basically a Hold Steady song, and hell, I'm here for it
