Felt a lot of solidarity with The Lesbiathan about how shitty this alternate history is.

For the record this (https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm17825201) is my favorite Vocaloid song (yes i know this is a cover, both the og and the covers are really good)

The japan that someone imagined when they saw a jpeg of Miku, got a boner, but before they opened up the wikipedia page about Japanese history and went flaccid. It's about recapturing that brief naïve boner.

it's ballsy to write so much while knowing so little about both history and hatsune miku

I had a random thought about how annoying the alt history was. They could have made it so much more entertaining and logical enough sounding.
Make Tsarist Russia a WW2 axis power instead of a unified China. Because Russia vs US and Canada to the north was a historic fear. Just push back the Russian revolution until before WW2, have it be an ongoing internal conflict.
Heck, have the Pacific Islands threatened by a few warlords backed by Russia. Warlords vs Japan and the assorted European imperial holdings is easy to understand. Even more reason to get the US and Japan on the same side. And there would still be room to explore things between different rebel groups fighting against each other and imperialists
That timeline still doesn't make the most sense, but it offers so much more space to play in than palate swapping Japan and China.

Tsarist ww2 Russia falling after nukes drop on Vladivostok, Bolsheviks rapidly seizing power and inheriting the imperial war machine.
What's that, the Korean War still needs to happen? Fuck it, Mikuland becomes a guarantor of South Korea, and the US backs Mikuland because it's a crucial ally against communism. And this makes the South Koreans love Mikuland and blah blah blah now Mikuland created K-pop.
The alt-history for that episode was as low effort a shoulder shrug as "Somehow, Palpatine is back."
