It’s fun how few things truly date this material. Only Barnabas the vampire (from 1960’s supernatural soap Dark Shadows), all the hitchhiking, and that awful apartment interior design really stand out.

The whole reason I made this doc in the first place is that I collect vintage gay pulp when I can afford it and something interesting you see a bit of in the summaries in the episode is the "medical" angle some of them take. I've got more than one book which has the fig leaf of being some sort of sociological collection of testimonies of The Homosexual, where every chapter is an extended piece of pornographic writing.

Also, at the end, Rally Round the Fag is mentioned, and it's part of series called The Man From C.A.M.P., which is a parody of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. featuring a globetrotting gay special agent/spy. Fun!
