The new Anaconda works mostly good for most of the movie. The third act though, and the subplots in general. The money spent on pyrotechnics and cameos in the third act should have gone towards writing a more fulfilling ending.

Watching Vertigo (a great film) after learning about alfred hitchcock's many crimes

Testament of Ann Lee.

This movie was a hard watch and its still troubling me a few weeks after watching it.

In the trailer I saw, it looked like an uplifting musical with dance numbers. The trailer left out the bulk of the film. The movie showed every traumatic event that happens to Ann; miscarriages, violence, murder, sexual assault, and all.

This was essentially a horror film spliced with a docudrama. And with the music switched midway from grimy gnarly chants to gospel music.

How did this movie happen?

Dick Tracy is the craziest shit I've ever seen. We used to just give lunatics 50 million dollars to spend on commissioning five dozen matte paintings or getting Stephen Sondheim to write a bunch of Madonna songs. It's like Roger Rabbit was played 100% straight and full of dozens of people in Total Recall-level special effects makeup to exactly replicate a weird guy that a 30s cartoonist drew.

Breakfast at Tiffany's: I thought I knew what to expect but wow! They should have won an award for it. The Academy Award for Most Racist Actor in a Supporting Role. Absolutely blown away.
