My hair is getting pretty long and my bangs have been all in my face at work which sucks because I work in food service so I can't touch my hair/face which means I have to do an emoboy myspace hair flip every 30 seconds, which is not a great look. The other day I was thinking to myself "I wish there was something I could use to like... pin my bangs up and keep them out of my face." Then I realized -- get this -- that already exists! It's called a bobby pin and it was invented in 1899. But then I was like, unconsciously, "oh but that's a girl thing so nvm." Then I said "oops wait who gives a shit" and bought some bobby pins and HALLELUJAH this is so much better. Sometimes I forget how deeply ingrained the gender binary can be until I'm actively thinking about it.
